Major League Coaches

2012 Board of Directors
The 2012 Board of Directors have been elected. Congratulations to those voted in for the 2012 Season
Weather 10-1 & 10-2
Once again mother nature is not cooperating and the fields are in rough shape, so as of now all of todays games and tomorrows 9 am games are cancelled. More the likely all of tomorrows games will be cancelled but we will check the fileds tomorrow morning and decide if we can get any games played.
BOD Elections
Congratulations to the nominees that have been voted in for the upcoming 2012 season. A special meeting with the newly appointed BOD Nominees will be held @ 6:00 pm at the Whitman Knights of Columbus on Sunday, September 18, 2011. This meeting will decide the positions the newly elected BOD will hold for the next year. The elected nominees can be found here... Thank you to those that did not get voted in for stepping up and being part of our league. A special thank you to those departing the BOD for all you have done in the past year(s) and we hope you will continue to contribute to the league in any way you can.
WBSA Fall Ball
The 4-year old clinic will start this Sunday September 11th @ 9:00am at the Conley School fields.
Board of Directors Elections (UPDATE)
The nomination period is closed. The voting will be on Sunday, September 11, 2011 @ 6:00pm at the Whitman Knights of Columbus. You must be an active member in order to vote. The top 24 vote getters will comprise the BOD for the 2012 season. Once the 24 have been appointed to the board, they will decide amongst themselves who will hold what positions.
WBSA Fall Ball
The season will start this weekend (Sunday 9/4) with games in the Instructional, Farm and Majors divisions. Schedules are online, so check the division schedule or team schedule to see when the games are. Good luck to all the teams this Fall!
Board of Directors Elections
An Open election (active WBSA Members ONLY) will be held on September 11, 2010 from
6pm - 7pm at the Whitman Knights of Columbus that will decide who will be on the board for the 2012 season. The top 25 nominees voted for in the open election will comprise the board. If you are interested in being on the Board of Directors, please submit your nomination to our Internet Information Director by 5:00pm on September 1, 2011. Nominees will be posted to our website by 7:00pm on September 1, 2011 on the following page.
You cannot nominate another person, you can only nominate yourself. Nominations must be in writing, either electronically or by hand. Hand written nominations can be mailed to

If mailing in a nomination, please be sure to mail it early enough to be received before September 1, 2011. Nominations received after 5:00pm on September 1, will not be included in the voting.

- Final Registration date is Saturday August 13th from 12:00pm - 4:00pm @ Whitman Middle School outside the main entrance (any registrations sent in after this date will incur a late fee of $15)
- Fall Ball Tryouts - Majors only
- August 27th @ 10:00am @ Town Park (rain date of August 28th, same time and place).
Whitman Invitational Tournament
"A" Tournament UPDATE!
- Congratulations to the Whitman 8A team for winning the 8A Championship game against Milton National!
- Congratulations to the S. Plymouth 9A team for winning the
9A Championship game against E. Weymouth!
- Congratulations to the Hanover 10A team for winning the 10A Championship game against S. Plymouth!
- Congratulations to the Plymouth 11A team for winning the 11A Championship game (in a 12 inning
battle) against Abington.
"B" Tournament - The "B" Tournament will start this Friday night (July 22nd), come on down to the fields and watch some of the action.

Farm League Playoffs
The Farm League (Baseball) season came to a close on Father's day with the championship game (see the playoff page for the full details) between McDonald's and Johnson Insurance. McDonald's came out on top with a 4-2 win! Congratulations to all of the players and coaches on a great season. Enjoy your summer and we hope to see you all for Fall Ball.

Whitman Invitational Tournament - UPDATE!!!
Space is filling up fast for our second annual tournament. If you are interested in your team playing, please see our event page and get the forms sent in to us A.S.A.P.
Flag Pole @ Middle School Complex
Zach Samya, of BSA Troop 22 in Whitman, will be building a new brick flag pole area and installing a flag pole at the fields used by the WBSA, at the Whitman Middle School, as his Eagle Scout Project. Please read his letter and order form for more information.
Website changes
We are making some changes to the website to make it easier to get team and division information.
5/20/2011 We have removed the individual division schedules and created one page that you can sort by the division you want, but the scores are not entered as of yet on the schedule, so you will need to go to the teams page to see the scores for the games already played.
6/1/2011 We have completed the changes to the website, all scores have been entered for all played games and the standings have been updated. We hope these changes give you better access to all of the season's information.
Welcome to the Rockland Minor League Teams
We are pleased to announce that the Rockland Little League and the WBSA Minor Leagues have joined together in a 7 team league this spring. The first "interleague" games will be this Saturday, both played in Rockland. The first game is @ 1:00 pm between the Mets and K of C and the second is @ 3:00 pm between the Scrappers and Whitman Tool & Die.
McDonald's of Whitman - WBSA Day
The WBSA would like to say "THANK YOU!!!" to McDonald's of Whitman for holding "WBSA Day" in conjunction with our opening day celebrations. The monies raised will be put towards a new scoreboard later this summer for one of our fields. Thank you McDonald's and thank you to all that came out and participated in this event!

Meadow Muffin Fundraiser
This year we have decided to hold a Meadow Muffin Fundraiser. We will be sending the players home with "deeds" to be sold for the event. On the day of the event we will lay out a grid on one of the fields, bring in a cow and award prize(s) to the holder of the deed where the cow leaves a "muffin."
The Meadow Muffin event will be Saturday June 11th from 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Whitman Invitational Tournament
We will be hosting our Invitational Tournament again this year. We have expanded the tournament to include "B" teams this year. The "A" tournament will be July, 8th, 9th & 10th and the "B" tournament will be July 22nd, 23rd & 24th. The "A" tournament will include 8 year old, 9 year old, 10 year old and 11 year old divisions and the "B" tournament will be
9 year old, 10 year old and 11 year old divisions. More information will be coming as we finalize the details.
