Whitman Fall Ball will hold a Home Run Derby for their Baseball Farm and Major League Divisions on October 31, 2010 @ 12:00pm on MS1 (Middle School Complex). Each coach from this season's teams will select 2 players to participate in the derby. The deeby will be based on a point system, not just home runs. The scoring is as follows...
1 point for a ball hit into the outfield in the air
2 points for a ball hit in the air beyond the outfield markers (about 1/2 way into the outfield)
5 pionts for a ball hit over the outfield fence
There will be two rounds for each division as follows...
Round 1 - each player gets 5 swings, the top 2 advance
Round 2 - each player gets 10 swings
(Points are not carried over from round one)
